2012Zebie, the latest member of the KGE wildlife clan
Introducing Zebie. On the golf course we have impala, sable, oribi, puku and of course zebra. The zebras are by far the most tame, and even though Zebie was only a few days old when I took these photos, his mother allowed me to get so close that I was starting to feel uneasy. If you’ve seen the NatGeo Wild ad where the one zebra kicks the other in the teeth, well then you’ve got an idea of the pictures going through my mind during many of these shots.

Words fail me……… the first one is my favourite, until I saw the next and the next and…………….
Did not realize zebras born without teeth. Tried to do some research… could not find any info on Zebras but apparently horses cut their first teeth after a week. Now there’s a project for you, Peter – photograph Zebie’s teeth every day so that we can get the definitive answer …. just ask his mother first before you look in his mouth. found the answer to another conundrum – in the last photo the zeb on the left is white on black but the one on the right is painted with black paint on a white canvas…………….so beautiful – the pictures and the animals.
