Namibia

 

Namibia was completely amazing.  I expected desert with little life, but boy was I wrong.   There was life everywhere.  Etosha was simply beautiful with its white sands and wide open vistas.  The photos look almost over exposed or washed out, but that is exactly what it looks like.  We saw loads of desert elephants and they are huge, certainly not small and skinny as one might imagine.  We were only in the park for two days so we’ll definitely be going back for a longer stay.  Then we get to Sossusvlei, and WOW!  That is the only way to describe it.  As a kid, I can imagine my parents saying “we are going to see some sand dunes”, and me thinking that that is a very boring and lame idea of a holiday, but boy would I have been mistaken.  They truly were breathtaking.  One of the things that grabbed me the most was the amount of life that was evidently thriving in the desert.  There were spoor criss crossing the dunes in all directions.
